Taro Karibe

Based in Tokyo, Taro Karibe is a Japanese freelance photographer.

He has contributed to publications including WIRED, Washington Post, Der Spiegel, The Wall Street Journal, Forbes Japan, and Newsweek Japan. He has also worked on creating personal artworks and shown them internationally. Major awards include PDN Photo Annual (USA).

His first paycheck: “It was 2012 when I received my very first salary from the commercial bank where I worked as a salesperson in Yokohama city. It was about $1,800 after tax. I bought a vintage wine from the same year I was born for my parents.”
